Every year the website Shoot & Share hosts a huge photo contest open to any- and everyone from all over the world. In 2015 & 2016 I didn’t enter photos myself, however my wife entered a few on my behalf that ended up doing well (I wasn’t aware at the time that anyone could enter). Well this year I took a chance and entered the maximum allowed photos, 50, in various categories: Just the Groom, Just the Bride, Pets/Animals, Wedding Party, Details, Wanderlust, Kids, The Wedding Couple, Maternity, Personal Work, and People Portraits.
One of the best things about the contest is not only that anyone can enter, but the pictures remain anonymous and anyone can vote. Because of this, there is less bias and the best pictures are allowed to shine, regardless of their origin.
This year, there were a total of 332,768 photos entered across the 25 different categories. I’m happy to say that in the end, I had some photos do quite well. Two of mine made it to the top 20%, another made it to the top 10% and then I had yet one more that made it all of the way to the finalist round. Here are those photos that did well, as well as the other 46 that I entered:
