I was so incredibly excited to be a part of Erica and Vinnie’s Chesterwood wedding. Ridiculously sweet and down-to-earth, they are exactly the kind of people that I love to be around. Their wedding took place in Stockbridge, MA, right in the heart of the Berkshires.
Their ceremony took place at Chesterwood, which is perhaps the most beautiful site for a wedding that I have seen in a long while. The home, gardens, and studio belonged to the great American sculptor, Daniel Chester French in the late 1800s to early 1900s. His studio was built for perfect light, with no southern-facing windows and full floor-to-ceiling northern-facing windows, which gave the interior incredibly beautiful indirect sunlight. It was in these walls that French designed and sculpted the Abraham Lincoln that sits in Washington DC’s Lincoln Memorial. As parts were completed, they were loaded on a train, whose tracks ran right up to the side of the studio. A short section of the track still remains today.
After a private first look behind the studio, Erica and Vinnie were married in the adjacent gardens. Pink hydrangea trees and peonies lined the isle and were in full bloom (for those keeping score, no I don’t know flower trees, yes, I had to Google it).
This wedding had so many amazing photographs that I couldn’t possibly fit it in one blog. I can’t wait to feature Part II, which has soooo many more portraits of these two, as well as their reception at Vinnie’s family home.
Erica + Vinnie, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your amazing day. The weather was perfect, the location was a dream, and you two were amazing to work with. Congratulations 🙂
